Lily-Marlene Puusepp

Lily-Marlene Puusepp is a versatile harpist. She regularly performs as a soloist and a chamber musician, as well as a symphony orchestra musician. Puusepp has a large repertoire, and she performs both old and new music. Puusepp has succesfully performed at many music festivals—Musica Nova Helsinki, Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, and Time of Music in Viitasaari, among others. She has frequently performed in  the Sibelius Academy’s Concert Series, and also as a soloist with the famous Avanti! Chamber Orchestra and the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra.

Puusepp has studied at the Sibelius Academy with the Finnish harpist Marjatta Haahti. Puusepp got her Master’s degree in 2005. Since then, she has continued her studies for the Doctor of Music degree at the DocMus Department of Performance and Research at the Sibelius Academy.  Puusepp has played in many radio broadcasts in the Finnish national radio (YLE) and plays on many CD recordings with various groups. She has performed as a freelance harpist with Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta and Avanti! Chamber Orchestra. In addition she has worked together with many professional choirs, Candominoand Tapiola Chamber Choir among others.

Puusepp’s instrument is a Lyon & Healy Style 23 concert grand harp from 2005. Puusepp has received grants and scholarships from the Finnish Cultural Foundation, the Foundation of Alfred Kordelin, the Sibelius Academy and the Helsinki Cultural Fund.
